Rowan you are FIVE months (one month late)

On March 5th Rowan turned FIVE months old!

Five month stats:

I think I can say that most of your baby features are gone. You are looking more and more like a little boy every day, and that is bittersweet. You are going to the the cutest boy that I have ever laid eyes on!

You are eating about four six bottles per day and most days you eat a solid dinner with mom and dad, your favorite are sweet potatoes. You have tried applesauce, bananas, squash, and carrots. You really like the applesauce but it affected your re flux so we have to wait on that one for a while.

As you can see pictures were hard this month! You DO NOT sit still anymore. You have completely master rolling and we cannot leave you unattended on any high surface! You are also trying really hard to sit up. You aren't quite there yet

You are laughing constantly. At first you really only thought that mommy was funny but you are starting to see the humor in others now.

You are still sleeping through the night, usually about 12 hours! Again, I am so amazed and blessed that you do this!! I am so spoiled with lots of sleep! You usually have your last bottle between 7:30 and 8.

Until recently I was rocking you to sleep every night, but since early March we have been just putting you in your crib and letting you go to sleep on your own.. and you have been doing great. Only a little crying. But I have to say I will miss those days of rocking you. You are already to the point that you would rather not be rocked

As EVERYONE points out, yes you are small. Meme calls you a shrimp. You are about 14 lbs now by our weighing method.... Dad weighs himself and then he holds you and weighs and then we do the math! I am not sure how long you are now.

Your favorite thing is still the jumperaoo. You love love love jumping and you laugh and talk the whole time. You are enjoying your own time to roll around on the floor now a lot more also.

I am excited that the summer is approaching so that we can get you a little pool! You love the water and I cant wait to see if you enjoy the swimming pool!

Other things to remember.... you can still comfortably wear most 0-3 month clothes, although they are beginning to get short. You are starting to wear 3-6 month size because that is what I bought you for summer. They are still a bit big though. You are now wearing a size two diaper, although a one still fits. We ran out of ones and had twos on hand so twos it is

You continue to be a constant joy and the light of our lives! I am so happy and blessed to be your mommy!! Love always--Mom and Dad!

Rowan is FOUR months! (Two months late)

On February 5th, Rowan turned FOUR months old!

Four Month Stats:

You weighed about 13 lbs.
You were eating 5 ounce bottles every three hours during the day.
You were on a pretty set schedule, waking and eating at 8 am, and watching cartoons while I ate my breakfast.
Nap between 9:15 and 9:30 and sleeping until 10:30 or 11.
You were still spitting up ALOT during this time.
You always enjoy family dinner, You sit in your bouncer by daddy and tell him all about your day.
After dinner you usually take a short little catnap. Daddy usually holds you.
At about 7:30 you get your bedtime bottle. Sometimes you go right to sleep, other times you like to chat, but you are always in your bed asleep by 8:30.
You are still sleeping all night! You may wake once or twice looking for your binky but then its right back to sleep.
You are still wearing 0-3 month clothes, and a size 1 diaper.
You are rolling mostly from belly to back. Back to belly makes you really mad and you usually start screaming for help!
Did I mention you have a temper? Well you do. Must come from your daddy! :)
This month Mommy and Daddy went to Texas for a short weekend trip and you stayed with meme for two nights. That was the longest we have been a part. Mommy cried when she left you. But you did just fine.

Here are a few pictures from your 4th month!

You like to cuddle in your bed with raffe the Giraffe.

Four Month Check up! Right before shots...

Souvenirs from mommy and daddy's trip to Texas

You enjoy being outside very much

We love you sweet boy!!

Rowan, you are Three months (THREE months late)

I am playing catch up and posting pictures from Rowan's third month!

I am totally a bad mommy and do not have your stats for this month....Well I have them somewhere, anyway. I cant remember for sure how much you weighed, probably about 10-11 pounds. I know you were still wearing 0-3 month clothes and a size 1 diaper.

Here are a few candids from your third month of life.

And your professional photos at three months. This was an interesting shoot. You were pretty cranky and not into it. Luckily we have some amazing ladies for photographers and they still got great pictures. I was sure there would not be one good photo.

I think you look like me in the first picture, your all daddy in the second one though!

I love you so much son!

You are very strong and you can hold your head up well, and you push off of people and things with your legs!

You are sleeping in your room in your crib. You get up about three times during the night. I am hoping that changes soon!

You are a momma's boy, at least I think so anyway.

You are wearing newborn diapers, and newborn clothes, and still some preemies.

You have changed you mommy and daddy's life forever. We love you so very much!

I am looking forward to watching you grow and learn new things, but not to fast please!

Baby update, and a prayer request.

So today I am 25 weeks and 4 days. Next week I have my glucose test and we will be on the downhill slide for sure. I am due in a little more than 3 months! I cannot belive that!

25 weeks

So on July 4 I woke up and I was having some pain in my ribs on the right side. I just though maybe I slept funny. We went on with our day and went to the movies and I got worse and worse, I was in horrible pain and contemplating telling Sam that we needed to go to the hospital. At the end of the movie I was hurting but thought maybe I needed to eat. We ate dinner and headed home. I moaned and groaned the whole time. I was still going back and fourth about going to the hospital, but I figured it was something with a rib and there wouldn't be much anyone could do for me anyway. I decided to tough it out and call my dr first thing in the morning. As I was getting into bed I was in complete agony and tears were rolling down my face, Sam asked again if I wanted to go to the ER but I kept telling myself that I didn't want to pay 400 dollars for something that I could pay 50 if I could just wait to see my dr. (stubborn I know) So when I woke up Tuesday I called my doctor and I was shocked when they told me to head to the hospital and go to labor and delivery. Apparently what I described could have been a gall bladder attack!! I had no idea! So I was admitted and hooked up to an IV and given pain killer and they did an ultrasound. After about 4 hours in the hospital, to our relief I was not having gallbladder issues. My doctor decided it was most likely a "muscoskelton" issue. Rib out of place most likely. I was put on bed rest for four days. By Saturday I was able to get up and move around and Monday I got to come back to work. It was really painful but I am so glad it wasn't something more severe, and Rowan was just fine the whole time.

In other news, please pray for my friend Candice. She just learned yesterday that she has Lymphoma. She is young and strong and has a great support of family and friends, but every prayer counts.
