Rambling on a Wednesday

Hello all. And when I say all I mean like all five or six of you who might read this post! Ha!

It has become habit for us to take a walk almost every night after dinner. Rowan loves being outside and it keeps him from getting to cranky. Plus I can always use the exercise. Here is Rowan on our walk last night.

My mom pointed out this little thing at Wal-Mart. You put bananas or whatever food so that the baby wont choke on it. Rowan is eating a banana and he loved it. He liked that he could do it himself.

My flower bloomed! Isn't it pretty! Problem is my grandma gave me this plant years ago and I have no idea what it is.... anyone know??

I put together some cheap art work for my guestroom/office/craft room redo. Free printables plus two $3.99 frames with mats from Micheals! Awesome!!

Love Printable here and hope printable from Brooklyn Limestone, here

Finally, I picked up these gift bags and cupcake liners at Micheal's in the dollar bins. They are for Rowan's first birthday party.... in less than 6 months. I am doing a Vintage Circus theme. While I can wait for my baby to turn one, I am excited to plan his party. :)

I hope that everyone had a great Wednesday!

Miscellany Monday

Hey Everyone! I am linking up to miscellany monday at lowercase letters today! This is my first time so if you are new, welcome!

{one}

This weekend we went to the wedding of a friend of ours. It was a beautiful place called Five Oaks Lodge, and the ceremony overlooked the lake. Unfortunately we had some nasty weather forecasted in Oklahoma this weekend. Luckily it only sprinkled a little during the ceremony but they moved it under the covered part of the deck just to be safe. It was still a very pretty wedding and the bride looked beautiful.

On Saturday we celebrated my nephew Jackson's third birthday! Time flies so fast, seems like he was only just born.

I have been working hard on my office/craft space. Here is a little sneak peek!

I ordered this diaper bag on Friday. I am pretty stinking excited!

As I said earlier we had some pretty severe weather here in Oklahoma this weekend. Luckily the bad storms missed us but there have been many injuries and fatalities not only in our state but Kansas also. Praying for all those who lost family members, are injured or lost their homes and businesses!

I hope everyone is having a terrific Monday!

The Nursery

Well it has only taken me about 6 months to finally post this. But only now do I feel like I can call the room truly done. And I have a feeling it will change often.

I feel like I achieved what I wanted to in this room. It all started with the bedding and evolved from there. The fact of the matter is, baby bedding is expensive...like more expensive than any bedding that I have ever owned. Or maybe I am cheap. Or frugal. Frugal sounds better. Anyway, it is a challenge to me to design a room, or organize a space as cheaply or frugally as possible. Enough rambling...here is Rowan's room.

Rowan is SIX months!!

On April 5th Rowan turned 6 months old! 1/2 a year!! My where does the time go?

On April 7th you had your 6 month check up! You are in the 10th percentile for height at 14.6 lbs and in the 25th percentile for height at 26 inches! You got a lot taller!

Currently we are changing up your eating schedule. Dr. Harmon thought that 6 ounces per feeding was a little much so we are now trying this...5 ounce bottle after you wake up, then later breakfast of sweet potatoes mixed with a little oatmeal and two ounces of formula. Another 5 ounces at lunch, another five ounces after your nap, dinner of baby food, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, peas and green beans are what you like so far, and another two ounces of formula, then 5 ounces at bedtime. You seem to be adjusting well, and you love love love eating baby food, however, you hate cereal and if I think you are figuring out that it is in your breakfast because the last couple of days you aren't eating much of it. You really don't care for any of the fruits, except applesauce but it is to acidic and bothers your reflux so no applesauce for now.

You are starting to hold you bottle and cup a little by yourself, it is pretty cute.

Your sleep schedule is changing.... You are still going to be between 8 and 8:30 however you are waking up as early as 4:30 and you will not go back to sleep until you get a bottle. Sometimes you wake up at 5:30 or 6 and you are up for the day. At first I was not liking this change but now it seems to be working out well and I am adjusting. Well except when you get up at 4:30, lets not do that anymore, k?

You are now pretty much exclusively wearing 6 month clothes. Most of the pants and jeans are to big around your tiny waist but we need those for length. You still have a couple pairs of 3 month jeans that fit well.

You are a roly poly for sure now. You get around that way. You are now getting up on all fours and rocking back and fourth, which has resulted in a few face plants.... but you only cry for a second. I think you may crawl before you sit up. We will see.

You still like the jumparoo a lot, but you prefer to be on the floor so you are free to move about. You have mastered picking things up now, and you pick up your binky and try to put it in your mouth but you haven't quite figured out how to get it into your mouth the right way so that makes you mad.

Speaking of mad, you still have that temper! Man oh man can you scream!

Last week you were cranky for several days in a row and we discovered some little white teeth trying to break though! I can't believe you are already getting teeth! Time is flying!!

You are such a good mannered, happy baby boy and mommy and daddy are so in love, we cannot get enough of you!! We love you sweet boy! Happy "6 months"!

Rowan's First Easter!
